About Debt Review Removal
Debt review is a formal process under the National Credit Act. Once you are under debt review, a flag is placed on your credit profile and exiting the process must follow the applicable legal requirements.
The correct route depends largely on whether a court order or National Consumer Tribunal (NCT) order has been granted. Where no order has been obtained, different options may be available than where an order is in place. Where an order exists, the process is generally more formal and may require a court application or proof that obligations have been satisfied.
CrediSure assists by establishing exactly where your matter stands, obtaining the relevant documentation and coordinating the appropriate next steps with your debt counsellor and other parties.

Important considerations
- Debt review cannot simply be cancelled on request; the process must satisfy legal requirements.

- Exiting debt review does not cancel the underlying debt. Outstanding amounts remain payable.
- Timelines depend on third parties, including debt counsellors, creditors, courts and bureaus.
FAQ
Debt Review Removal — common questions
Can my debt review be removed immediately?+
Not automatically. The route depends on your status, whether an order was granted and whether your debts have been paid. We assess this before recommending any step.
What is a clearance certificate?+
A clearance certificate (Form 19) is issued by a debt counsellor once all obligations under a debt restructuring order have been satisfied, with some exceptions such as long-term home loans.
Will my debts disappear once debt review is removed?+
No. Removing the debt review flag does not cancel the debt. You will continue to owe any outstanding balances, but you will deal with creditors directly.
